June 29, 2020

As of June 29, the Morristown-Hamblen Library will be closed to open traffic due to the rise of Covid-19 cases in Hamblen County until further notice.

The Library wishes to keep our patrons reading, provide information, and keep you entertained during this time. Please help us by following the guidelines of the CDC for social distancing.

In order to be safe, the following changes have been made for checking out your materials:

Pick up for materials will NOT be at the door. However, when you arrive, call the library number 423-586-6410 or text 423-301-6882 to let us know you have parked in the front of the Library. Please have the trunk or the door to your back seat open, and once you are back inside the car, the staff can place the items directly in your vehicle. Pickup will be from 10 to 5:30 Monday to Friday and 10 to 3:30 on Saturday.

Hotspot renewals may be paid online. Please call ahead to get the amount due.

Because Binge Box movies will not fit into the book deposits, please return them during library hours. Call or text the Library to let us know you have placed them at the front door. Staff will pick up the Binge box after you have walked away.

If you have any other questions about your account or materials, please call.

Note Online Service and Resources Available 24 hours/day:

The Library’s many online resources, such as eBooks and audiobooks from Tennessee R.E.A.D.S., are always available at www.morristownhamblenlibrary.org. The Library’s online databases also include Tumblebooks for children, A to Z food, Creativebug, Acorn TV, and digital magazines.  We have just added four new online resources to our website:  TumbleMath, TeenBookCloud, RomanceBookCloud, and AudioBookCloud.

If you do not have a library card and would like access to the online library services, please go to our website and fill out the application for an electronic service only card (eCard).

As the coronavirus outbreak develops, please stay up to date on the Library’s plans and continue to access its digital resources by visiting www.morristownhamblenlibrary.org and following Morristown-Hamblen Library on Facebook for updates.

The Morristown-Hamblen Library issues eCards for patrons in our service area who are unable to come in to the library and register for a full-access library card.  An eCard will allow you to use all of our online resources, including eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, videos, Great Courses, Creative Bug, TumbleBooks, and AcornTV.  An eCard will not be issued if you currently have a full-access library card.  The eCard may not be used to check out physical material from the library or access the public computers.  Complete the eCard registration form HERE and your new eCard number will be emailed to you within 3 business days.  If you have questions about eCards or have lost your eCard number, please call the library at 423-586-6410 and ask for Tracy or Penny.

Are you ready to try Zoom, but not sure how to get started?

Zoom is a popular service for videoconferencing over the internet.  You can meet with up to 100 people and see the other participants on live video as you talk.  While staying safe at home, you can use Zoom to visit with family and friends, celebrate birthdays and graduations, meet with coworkers, or hold bible studies.

Learn to Zoom by joining a practice session with a Morristown-Hamblen librarian.  Call 423-586-6410 to set up an appointment.  You don’t need to come to the library, we can send you a link to join the Zoom session from home.
