The Morristown-Hamblen Library will be reopening to the public on Monday, June 1, and will limit access to the number of patrons accessing the building in order to meet safe social distancing.
June 1 to June 30, 2020:
- The utilization of masks, temperature, and health questions asked will be consistent with the City of Morristown and Hamblen County policy, as they currently exist.
We will limit patrons to as close to 10 at a time as possible in the building so that there will be adequate space for social distancing. Patrons will not be able to spend more than 30 minutes if they are not using the computer. Not all computers will be accessible at this time to comply with the 6-foot social distance rule. Those accessing computers will be limited to one hour. (No loitering)
Study rooms and meeting rooms including the Community Room are not in use during June.
Online Summer Reading Programming activities will be available; however, no library programming will be available at the facility during June. The Library will investigate safe alternative programming for those who may not have internet access.
- The Library will follow any new guidelines given from Officials as announced.
For patrons who wish to continue using curbside service, Staff will continue this during the following hours:
Monday to Friday – 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Saturday – 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Online payment for Hotspots will continue at this time.

The Library’s many online resources, such as eBooks and audiobooks from Tennessee R.E.A.D.S., are always available at www.morristownhamblenlibrary.org. The Library’s online databases also include Tumblebooks for children, A to Z food, Creativebug, Acorn TV, and digital magazines. We have just added four new online resources to our website: TumbleMath, TeenBookCloud, RomanceBookCloud, and AudioBookCloud.
If you do not have a library card and would like access to the online library services, please go to our website and fill out the application for an electronic service only card (eCard).
