HOW TO CHIP IN AND EMPOWER YOUR LIBRARY
The Morristown-Hamblen Library has been one of the most beneficial institutions for Hamblen County and the surrounding counties for over 80 years when it was established by the City and County government as they agreed to equally fund it as an official “public library” on October 6, 1941. Of course, we should never forget all the ladies of the community who endeavored to make this establishment possible before this.
The General Federated Women’s Clubs have always supported and cherished the library. As early as the 1890s, documentation shows their members sharing their personal books and lending them to this community.
Many people have contributed to the library over the years. In big ways and small ways, they have made all the difference. People who have contributed their art, knowledge, time, and money have helped build this library. Their goodwill is the foundation upon which this library is built.
The Morristown-Hamblen Library Board members and Staff have committed to modernizing the library and keeping up with fast-changing economic times. The mission statement reads, “As a vital part of an educated community, the Morristown-Hamblen Library’s mission is to improve the lives of all citizens by providing free, unlimited access to information.” The Board of Trustees and Library Staff know that this mission succeeded with the community’s help. Therefore, it is greatly appreciated when someone steps up to contribute in some way to the library with the thoughtfulness of a bequest, support through volunteering their time or making gift donations for library materials, programs, and projects. The donations of books and other materials placed in memory or in honor of loved ones are such a remarkable statement of affection for the loved one and the library itself. Each time these materials are checked out, their loved ones are remembered.
If you want to contribute to the library, you may do so in person or by printing the donation form online. You can make a monetary donation online by clicking the link below.
